Hospital Equipment Lottery Project for People (H.E.L.P.P.)

HELPP is a break-open ticket lottery program, established in 1989 by the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario (HAAO). Not only does the hospital benefit from the sale of the tickets, but HAAO channels all profits from the HELPP ticket program back into the health care system. The HELPP lottery ticket has unique hospital symbols on the face of the ticket- the ambulance, wheelchair, crutches, bed pan and the "H" letter. Each ticket costs 50 cents, with prizes going as high as $100.

The HELPP Lottery Partners for the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation include Avondale Store #85, Butterball’s, Garden City Lions, Merritton Lioness, Meritton Lions, Port Dalhousie Lioness, Rotary Club, Smoker’s Plus and Friends of Thorold Secondary School.

The HELPP Lottery program has been supporting the St. Catharines General Hospital since 1990 and has raised over $1.5 million for patient care equipment. We thank the dedicated volunteers who sell tickets for this program throughout the Niagara Region. This program is a tremendous success thanks to the commitment of the volunteers, service clubs and businesses.
