At The SCGH Foundation we are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. We value our donors’ trust and recognize that maintaining this trust requires that we be open and accountable in our treatment of the information that you choose to share with us.

Your donation helps to ensure that the St. Catharines General Hospital can continue to provide the best health care possible by funding urgently needed patient care equipment. In order to fulfill these activities, we gather and use personal information.

Our Commitment To Your Privacy and Confidentiality
The Foundation respects the privacy of donors and protects their personal information - we do not rent, sell or trade our lists. We collect, use and disclose personal information only for the purpose of processing donations, keeping our donors informed about the activities of the Foundation and to ask for their support.

All personal information provided by our donors and supporters is secure information. In order to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the proper use of information, we have developed electronic and managerial procedures to secure donor information.

Website and Electronic Commerce
The SCGH Foundation servers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an advanced encryption technology that works with Netscape Navigator (versions 5.0 and above), Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and above), and AOL (AOL 5.0 and above).

We use password protocols and secure websites to protect personal and other information we receive when an online donation is made or merchandise is purchased. Our software is routinely updated to maximize protection of such information.

The SCGH Foundation utilizes the company, Moneris Solution, through the Royal Bank of Canada to process all online ecommerce transactions.  The SCGH Foundation does not handle the processing or storage of credit card data on the website. 

Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Log file access is restricted to system administrators while stored on the server. Log files are rotated regularly and archived in a secure location. User and password information, if requested, is encrypted before it is transmitted across the network.

Information Automatically Logged
The server collects the IP address, date, time, page accessed, browser type, and the referring page if present. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web page. The date and time are used to track the load on the server and peak usage times. We record the browser type to monitor market penetration of various web browsers so we can better determine what Internet technologies we may utilize in the design of our pages. We use page referrer data--that is, information about the web page that pointed you to our page--to determine to what extent our page is referenced by other resources on the web. These data may be used to preserve the integrity of our computing resources.
