Nurturing Niagara Campaign

“Nurturing Niagara” was the name of the 2003 capital project to raise funds for urgently needed patient monitoring equipment for the Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit, with a goal of $1.5 million.

The campaign was aptly named in light of the growing seniors’ population and the alarming need to be prepared for the quickly-growing number of patients. Critically ill patients in the Intensive Care and Progressive Care Units require constant monitoring, which means new and replacement monitoring equipment is required to enable our dedicated doctors and nurses to provide the highest standard of care.

Through the success of the Nurturing Niagara Campaign essential pieces of equipment needed to care for these critically ill patients were purchased including transport monitors, bedside monitors, a central station, a remote viewer, telemetry and other supplies. This equipment is helping our dedicated doctors and nurses provide the highest standard of patient care to the residents of Niagara.
