Sarah Walters Memorial Fund

The Sarah Walters Memorial Fund was established in Spring 2007 to raise funds to purchase a vital piece of equipment that will be Niagara’s first Breast Coil (with integrated biopsy capabilities) as part of an MRI system for the St. Catharines General Hospital.

Research has credited MRI machines with detecting cancer that has been missed by mammography and clinical examination, the current standard practice. Finding these cancers as early as possible will increase the chances of successful treatment.

Sarah Walters has left behind a legacy of hope while waiting for this treatment to be done in Hamilton. With your help, we can raise the $132,000 needed to purchase the Breast Coil.
